30-Minute Management Skills Webinars

Developing Others Through Coaching

Someone brings you a problem. You know the answer. You give it to them. It works. Then they come back next week with the same kind of problem. The loop continues. This December series teaches one practical skill: How to respond in ways that build problem-solving capability in your team rather than just solving the problem in front of you.

Session Details

Each session is 30 minutes. All three sessions are recorded and sent to registrants. Each session stands alone, but together they build a complete approach to developing a team that can solve problems without you.

Webinar 1: Coaching vs. Telling (December 02)

Giving answers is efficient. Coaching takes longer in the moment but produces very different results over time. This session is about developing the judgment to know which approach a situation actually calls for, so you're not defaulting to advice-giving out of habit.

Webinar 2: The Power of “What Else?” (December 09)

Most people stop generating ideas as soon as they hit on a reasonable one. This session focuses on simple follow-up questions that push thinking further without giving anything away, expanding what someone considers before they land on a solution.

Webinar 3: Building Self-Efficacy (December 16)

People develop confidence through repeated experience of their own competence, but only if someone reflects it back to them. This session is about how to point out when someone has successfully navigated something in a way that actually lands and builds belief in their own capability.

Who Should Attend

This series is for managers who:

  • Find themselves answering the same types of questions repeatedly from the same people

  • Know they're supposed to coach but aren't sure what that actually looks like in a real conversation

  • Give good direction but notice their team isn't getting more independent over time

  • Want to develop people who can think things through, not just execute what they're told

If you manage people and want to build a more capable, self-sufficient team, this is for you.

What You'll Walk Away With

After this series, you'll have:

  • A simple in-the-moment question that helps you decide whether to coach or give a direct answer

  • Specific follow-up language that expands thinking without steering toward your solution

  • Recognition language that reinforces capability and builds confidence to tackle harder problems

  • One concrete thing to practice after each session the next time someone brings you a problem
