Coaching Skills for Managers Who Are Ready to Lead Differently

This is a 5-month program that teaches laboratory animal facility managers how to build a coaching culture, one real conversation at a time.

RACE Credit

RACE Approved for CE

This program has been AAVSB RACE approved for 11.5 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval. Veterinary professionals can earn credits toward licensure while building coaching skills.

Why this program

Most facility managers lead the way they were trained to lead. Solve the problem, give the answer, move to the next fire. It works, until it doesn't. Your team brings you every decision, big and small, because they've learned you'll just tell them what to do anyway. Nobody grows past where they started, because nobody's had to.

Coaching means something different. Instead of solving for your team, you help them solve for themselves. Your team ends up thinking for itself, trusting its own judgment, and needing you less for the daily grind and more for the decisions that actually require you.

This program teaches you how to do that, and gives you five months to build your coaching skills with the people you actually manage.

Two ways to join

Join a cohort with leaders from other organizations for a chance to learn alongside peers who are solving similar problems at different facilities.

  • Capped at 10 participants, cohort starts February 1, 2027

  • Live sessions land on the last Thursday of each month, 10am PT / 1pm ET, with managers from multiple organizations

  • $2,950 per participant, includes your book, full platform access, all five live sessions, five 1:1 check-ins, and support the whole way through

Bring the entire program in-house for your organization. Every participant is one of your own managers, which means the group sessions build a shared language across your leadership team, not just one person's skill set.

  • Runs on your timeline, not a fixed public start date

  • Session times built around your schedules

  • Volume pricing once you're enrolling 5 or more managers from the same organization

  • Examples and discussion reflect your facility's actual day-to-day

FAQ

How much time does this actually take?

Plan on 3 to 6 hours a week, most of it self-paced so you can work it around your schedule. The one fixed commitment is a 90-minute live session on the last Thursday of each month, 10am PT / 1pm ET.

Does this count toward my continuing education requirements?

Yes, 11.5 RACE-approved CEUs, recognized by veterinary boards that accept RACE credit. You'll need to attend at least 4 of the 5 live sessions to receive credit. Check with your own board to confirm how it applies to you.

Do I need any coaching experience to start?

No. This program is built for facility managers, not professional coaches. If you're managing people without anyone ever teaching you how, this is exactly who it's for.

What if I can't make a live session?

You need to attend at least 4 of the 5 live sessions to receive your CE credit, so missing one session won't cost you your CEUs. If you know ahead of time you'll miss one, let me know as early as you can.

Can my organization send more than one person?

Yes, and it's worth looking at the closed cohort option instead. At 5 or more people from the same organization, it costs less per person and runs on your schedule.
